EMMELINE VANCE

Emmeline sat down and looked at Hestia's questioning face.

"I'm fine, it's just that..." her thoughts raced as she bit her lip nervously. She didn't know what to say or to do actually. Of course she had a problem and she needed to talk to someone but that was easier said than done.

Yet she had decided that this year would be different, that she would act on her feelings instead of daydreaming... she needed help and advise. And when she looked again at Hestia she thought that perhaps she was the best person to talk to. he was popular, she had friends and she would certainly not make fun of her.

Emmeline took a deep breath and... staring at the window as if her very life depended on it, she talked in a low voice.

"You know, actually you're kind of right. I am a little nervous" she paused for a second, trying to decide how to start the conversation. "Earlier today... well Peter and I went together to get food for everybody and... and..." she paused again to breathe "and... well, one minute we were talking and in the next second... he just left me alone and I honestly don't know what happened... I mean I didn't do anything wrong... I think." she stopped and at last looked at Hestia, eagerly waiting for her opinion.... if she had understood her words because Emmeline was sure that her speech had been pretty confusing.

Hestia listened intently to Emmeline as she studdered her way her explaination. Hestia thought to herself for a minute on a way to help her friend. "I have a feeling that he likes you but is unsure of what to say as you are. However I think this comming year he will try to get to know you better. I don't think you have anything to fear about him comming around. Or you could always go up to him and try talking to him again. I have confidence that you two will be just fine," she told Emmeline confidently even though she was unsure of the way she acted around Sirius although she was regaining her confidence that she usually showed during the school year.
